About
Microsoft Visio (formerly Microsoft Office Visio) is a diagramming and vector graphics application and is part of the Microsoft Office family. The product was first introduced in 1992, made by the Shapeware Corporation, later renamed Visio Corporation. Microsoft acquired it in 2000. A lightweight version of Visio is now included with all commercial SKUs of Microsoft 365 and is known as Visio in Microsoft 365. It has two other subscription-based SKUs. Visio Plan 1 includes the Visio web app, whereas Visio Plan 2 provides access to both the web app and the Desktop application.

Configure Visio365.xml
- Download the Office 365 Deployment Tool: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49117
- Download the officedeploymenttool_x-y.exe to a folder created at (C:Downloads)
- Open an Elevated Command Prompt by Right-Clicking on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
- Navigate to the C:Downloads folder
- Enter the following command to extract the ODT files: officedeploymenttool_x-y.exe /extract:C:DownloadsVisio365
- Press Enter
- Select the checkbox to accept the Microsoft Software License Terms
- Click Continue
- Navigate to C:DownloadsVisio365
- Delete the 3 existing .xml files as we will be creating our own - configuration-Office365-x64.xml - configuration-Office365-x86.xml - configuration-Office2019Enterprise.xml
- Navigate to https://config.office.com/deploymentsettings to Configure XML File
- Select the Architecture you want to deploy - 32-bit or - 64-bit
- Select Products and Apps you want to deploy - Office Suites - None - Visio - Visio Online Plan 2 - Project - None - Additional Products - None - Language Pack - Update Channel - Current Channel - Current Channel (Preview) - Monthly Enterprise Channel - Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel - Semi-Annual Enterprise Channel (Preview) - Select Version - Latest - 20XX - 20XX - 19XX - 19XX - Turn Apps On or Off to include or exclude them from being deployed - OneDrive (Groove) (Off) - OneDrive Desktop (Off)

- Click Next - Update and Upgrade Options - Uninstall any MSI versions of Office, including Visio and Project (Off) - Uninstall Visio (On) - Uninstall Project (Off) - Uninstall SharePoint Designer (Off) - Uninstall InfoPath (Off) - For uninstalled MSI versions of Office, install the same languages (Off) - Automatically upgrade to the selected architecture (On|Off)
- Click Next - Licensing and Activation - Automatically accept the EULA (On) - Product Key - KMS Client Key - Multiple Activation Key (MAK) - Product Activation - User Based - Shared Computer - Device Based - General Info - Provide your organization name to set the Company property on Office documents - Provide a description for this configuration for documentation purposes

- Click Export Button - Select Default File Format Option - Keep Current Option - Office Open XML Formats - OpenDocument Formats
- Click OK
- Accept the terms in the license agreement on the Export Configuration to XML screen
- Set the File Name to Visio365
- Click Export
- Open Notepad or your favorite text editor
- Add the following lines: <Configuration> <Display Level="None" AcceptEULA="TRUE" /> <Property Name="FORCEAPPSHUTDOWN" Value="TRUE" /> <Remove> <Product ID="VisioProRetail"> </Product> </Remove> </Configuration>
- Save the file to C:DownloadsVisio365 and name it: Visio365_Uninstall.xml
